Kids Summer Camp
Thanks for a great summer! Check back for information on Kids Summer Camp 2026.
Join us for a 2 to 2.5-hour glassblowing summer camp, designed for children ages 6 and up!
What to Expect:
- Glassblowing Demonstration: Kids will watch a live demonstration covering science, art, physics, and history— blending education with creativity.
- Hands-On Creation: Each child will create one of five glass pieces: ornament, small heart, flower, leaf, or feather. The glass must cool overnight, and projects will be ready for pickup the next day.
- Raffle: After the demo, we’ll raffle off the demonstration piece, and one lucky child from the group will take it home!
- Activity Sheets: To keep kids engaged while they wait for their turn, we’ll provide coloring and learning activity sheets.
- Fun Practice: Each child will receive a small jar of honey and pretzels — simulating the feel of gathering molten glass, as honey mimics the consistency of hot glass. (Please notify us of any honey or pretzel allergies.)
Important Info:
- Temperature: Our hot shop is climate controlled, starting at 75°F and gradually warming to around 85°F by midday (the reheating chamber runs at 2100°F, but the room won’t exceed 100°F). The gallery, however, is fully air-conditioned, and children can cool off inside as needed.
- What to Wear: Closed-toe shoes (sneakers preferred) and natural fiber clothing (shorts and tank tops are okay!).
- Parents/Guardians: Please stay with your child or group in the air-conditioned gallery. If you have other plans, you’re welcome to volunteer your child to go first so you can leave after they create their glass piece.
